A popular home lighting solution is Philips Hue. They make a series of lights that are energy efficient and controllable via an app from home and beyond.
You can set routines to switch the lights on and off and if they are the coloured lights, change the colours.
Integrating this with the popular IFTTT service, this means you can change the colours on a specific time and day, so you can make all your lights go green on March 17th to mark St. Patrick’s Day or change them to Orange on April 27th for the Netherland’s National Day!
We have added a bunch of routines on this page that you can easily add to your Hue lights to celebrate different holidays.
You can see a full list of light recipes on our IFTTT page
